Each evening, Marty and I play in the back yard. I throw the yellow ball. And if he feels up to it he will run and pick it up in his mouth. After we run around for about 5 minutes, he is pooped out. Then we can sit on the patio without him driving us bonkers. Marty is a great addition to our life. We take him on two walks each day. He gets so excited when it is walk time that I can hardly get the leash on him. Life is good.

The Grayson Family Reunion 2009
The Reunion in 2009 was a great success. Shelly and Abby did a superb job organizing and executing it. We had 79 in attendance. The Moody family accounted for 36 and the rest of us for 43. We had lots of little ones in attendance. Jimmy's grandson Grayson was the newest addition. Donald and Michelle announced that they were expecting their second next March. Dennis' sister Melody was with us from Boston, Todd was with a beautiful young lady Morgan from Jacksonville, and Jonathan brought his lovely friend. As usual the food was super delious. Uncle Jack could not make it, but Aunt Joey made it about 230PM. Next year we will meet in Ravenal and I will bring a picture album with about 60 plus pictures. Hope to see you there.

Sunset on the Sound - Edisto Beach July 2009
Jan and Grayson spent a week at the beach with Gary and Brenda and the Petrey family. We had a marvelous time. Being able to spend time with Gary's family was a real treat. There was never a dull moment. Evie, Mary Fran, and Ward were a delight. Fran and Drew are super parents. We had great meals, super conversations, and fun time on the beach. Gary and I played nine holes of golf and he excelled with a 38. We won't mention my score. And then we had dinner at Liz and Joe's home on Friday and Saturday evenings. The beach house was called " Sunset on the Sound". And we saw many beautiful sunsets. God is still in charge. And then we went to the Grayson Family Reunion on Sunday. And then we went home. Our puppy Marty had pulled up the azalea that I had planted and eaten off about 6 more feet of the water soaking hose. Life is good. Can't wait until next time.

Vacation in Hendersonville, NC - July 2009
Jan and I spent our longest time at Hendersonville since buying the home. We were there from Friday, 6/26/09, to Sunday, 7/05/09. We had a super time. Grayson played golf three times and did fairly well for an old fellow. We danced at Music on Main on both Fridays. We watched six DVD movies. As mentioned below, we went to Montreat twice. And then to cap it off, Eddie Mack and Joyce joined us on Thursday evening. Grayson read 3 books and Jan read two. We sat on the porch and watched one Canadian geese, about 15 ducks, 1 otter, 3 turtles, about 5-6 fish, and several mosquitor hawks. And one day we picnicked at Lake Lure. As we were sitting in our chairs reading, four ducks climb out of the water and walk straight at us. They come within about 6 inches of us - looking for some lunch. The sign said, "Don't feed the ducks". We didn't, and the ducks just stared at us. Finally, they left to find an easier mark. It was a beautiful day.
Montreat Worship and Music Conference - 2009
For 2009, Second Presbyterian sent 12 folks to the Worship and Music Conference. Included were the Moody family with friend, Jane, Debra, Alex, Annie , Jackie, Kayla, and Sandra. Grayson and Jan joined them at Worship on Monday morning and then again on Tuesday night for the Talent Show. David and Tayor performed together - David on the guitar and Taylor singing. Grayson recorded it on his camera but the video would not transfer. Wish you could have been there. I had been to the conference the previous six years, but this year Jan and I decided to spend the week at Hendersonville. It was a super week.
