The Wedding - September 26, 2009

Aimee was determined to get married on the beach - Oak Island beach. On Friday evening and all day Saturday it rained cats and dogs. The beach road was flooded in several places which made travel difficult. But we gathered at the restaurant on the beach where the wedding and reception were to take place. The wedding would take place inside at the restaurant. But at about 510PM the skies opened and we moved to the beach. There were no chairs or flowers or any of the other stuff for weddings. But the sky was clear, the wind was whistling and the waves were quietly roaring in the background. The bride was beautiful and smiling. And in a short few minutes Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Goodman were created. God is good and God is great.

The reception was a super success. The meal was delicious. Joe and Lisa had created an evening for Matthew and Aimee that would be long remembered. Friends and family had a wonderful time. The happy couple would leave on Monday morning from Charlotte for a honeymoon in Jamaica. Thanks to all who came for the wedding. Life is good.

The Rehersal Party - The Entertainment

What follows is 7 videos that contain the entertainment portion of the Rehersal Party. Obviously, it is me, Grayson, with my story titled "Thats Nice". It is about Matthew getting his driving license and his telling his Dad numerous times about this beautiful girl he has met and likes very much - namely Aimee. And then I finish with eight "gems of wisdom" for the kids and a toast. Hope you enjoy.

The Rehersal Party - September 25, 2009

On Friday night we met at the Surfer Restaurant in Southport, NC for the Rehersal Party. The place was decorated beautifully. We had 57 folks in attendance. The meal was superb. The menu included a strawberry salad, "surfer chicken", pasta salad, mixed vegetables, red potatoes, and rolls. Dessert was pecan pie.

We had lots of family and friends in attendance. We had a video slide show of Aimee and Matthew from birth until now. They certainly grow up fast. There are only 20 pictures below but Bert took about 110. So we will be making a video soon so you can see all of them. Jan's sisters from Oklahoma and Norfolk, VA were there as was Nick (Jane's son) from Raleigh. All of Grayson's brothers and wives were in attendance. Our dear friends Joan/Charles Baxter, Jim/Jackie George, and Bert/Katherine Sippola from Spartanburg made the long trip down to be with us. For this we are truly grateful. Aimee's family was well represented. Matthew was so pleased that his grandfather Bundy Johnson also came. All in all we had a great time. God is great. Life is good.
