Grayson finally made it to #70. And it was a grand weekend for him. We started off on Friday night. We had dinner with friends and then went to the play "Hello, Dolly". It was a wonderful time. On Saturday we met Aimee and Matthew and Joe and Lisa (Aimee's mom and dad)at Gaffney for dinner. We had not all been together since the wedding in 2009. Then on Sunday I got lots of Happy Birthday wishes. The choir sang to me. And then to my surprise, Jan had put flowers in the sanctuary in Honor of My 70th. Now everyone knows that I am not 52!!! At our small group Bible study that evening they sang again and we had a delicious ice cream cake. Finally September 13 arrived on Monday. I had a seminar to attend. So we celebrated with a light supper at Waffle House. And On Tuesday, Jan fixed my favorite birthday dinner of ham, rice and stewed tomatoes. Just a plain old country boy from Hollywood, SC.
I received almost 15 birthday cards and over 35 Happy Birthday greetings on Facebook. Plus I received a handful or two of phone calls. What a celebration. Sure does make you feel good to be remembered. So life is good and God is great.

Atlanta and Hendersonville 2010
We went to Atlanta to see Rick. The Mets were in town. We saw the game on Monday night which the Braves won. Had breakfast with Rick on Tuesday morning. Mom and son had about 3 hours for bonding. It was a nice quick trip.
For Labor Day we invited Eddie Mack and Joyce to stay with us in Hendersonville. The Apple Festival was downtown. We saw everything and more. Enjoyed the music and the crafts. Did some Christmas shopping also. Read the book "On Folly Beach". Try it; you will like it.
