A Visit with Stella at 16 Months on November 18, 2012

We had not seen Stella in about 4-5 weeks. She had been sick for the last two weeks with a runny nose and lots of coughing. The antibiotics did not do any good. And then she got pink eye which she proceded to give to her Mom and Dad. A fourth visit to the doctor resulted in another antibiotic. This one did the trick. Buttttttt, she broke out in a rash all over her body. So back to the doctor. She was allergic to the antibiotic. Now she has new medicine and a cortisone cream. Matthew reported today(11/28) that she was looking a little better.  But on this day she was feeling OK. We took them to dinner to celebrate Matthew's 30th birthday.

She went from one of us to another. She was very lovable and seemed to remember Grandmother and Granddaddy.

A Nice Visit With Stella

Stella with mom and dad came for a visit on Sunday October 21. She had a little cold and a runny nose. But she was busy as a bee anyway.
She was just thinking about what to do next.
 Looking for bargains.
Checking out the pictures on the coffee table.
 Mommy, are these your keys?
Time for a rest and a bottle. I am pooped out and hungry.
Dad, I like this new car seat.
Grandmother was looking pretty as usual.
Aunt Joyce was explaining something to me!

Birthday at the Hospital - Sept 13, 2012

This is a picture taken in the Heart Center at SRHS. The nurses had got me a balloon and cup cake and had sung Happpy Birthday. Steve and Judy had just walked in a few minutes later. As you may know I had open heart surgery on September14, 2012
Another picture of the birthday celebration. Joyce had come down from Virginia to be with Jan. Please note my beautiful gown.
Stella finally got to visit 2 weeks after my surgery.
A picture of Stella's good looking dad.
 Getting instructions from Mom!
Just thinking about what she should do next.
 Three nice ladies..
Mom was giving her a cheese stick to eat.
 Ready to go
What is my silly daddy doing.

Visit with Stella on August 28, 2012

Stella had just got home from her first day at the day care center. She was all pooped out. When her dad dropped her off in the morning, she just cried and cried. The worker had to hold her for awhile. Then when we picked her up, we had to go by the auto repair shop and pick up Matthew's car. She had to ride in my car since that was where the car seat was. Well, all the way home she cried. Her daddy was not with her. But once home, everything just settled out.
She was glad to be back with dad.
She is a happy camper now.
The little red spot on her face is where an ant had bitten her. Ants had gotten into the air conditioning duct and were falling down on her bed from the vent. She had several bits on her arms and legs.
 Talking over the day's happenings!
 What did you say dad?
I am so glad to be home!
I am also glad that granddaddy came over today.

Edisto Beach August 2012

For the last five years or so, Jan and I have spent a week at Edisto during August. This year Eddie Mack and Joyce were with us. We had a great time. One of the highlights was having dinner with Roy and Beth Smoak, Ginny King, and Beverly Warren. We had a mini St Paul's High School reunion. But I did not take any pictures. But on Friday night we had dinner at Joe and Liz's house and celebrated Joe's 69th birthday. This is three of the four Goodman brothers. Gary had come down and played golf with us but left early to return to home.
We had dinner under Joe's beach house. Joe and Mike had barbequed ribs and roast. They are outstanding hosts.

Shirley and Andy Golden were with us for dinner.

Liz and Jan were cleaning up after the meal and before the ice cream and cake.

 The birthday cake.
Granddad and son were confering over who would blow out the candles.
Joe had help with the opening of presents.
