Stella's Birthday Party - July 27, 2013

July 27, 2013. It is Stella's second birthday. And we are there to help her celebrate. First we have to have a hug from Grandmother.
A nice quiet stop in a chair before the party.
We have to have a picture of granddaddy with his favorite girl.
Daddy has to put on her sneakers so we can get the party going. We had lunch at MacAlister's.
After lunch we went to 'Monkey Joe's" palace. Here there are lots of bouncy slides and play areas.
Mom and Stella went down the big slide several times.
 Stella is ready for more.
In the under 3 area, Stella is going up the slide.
Here she is coming down. She did this slide about 10 times.
She played here most of the time. She would run back and forth bouncing off the walls and the little columns.
Time for the Merry Go Around.
We are back home now and are ready for the ice cream and cake.
 This is so much fun.
 I am so excited.
Oh boy! Here comes the cake.
Help me blow out the candle, Daddy.
 Finally, it is present time.
Momma, you can have this old dress.
I like my Raggedy Ann doll. I will put it in the bed with me.
This bubble making machine is so cool.
I am pretty good with this.
Look Mommy, I will make you some bubbles.

Grayson Family Reunion at Meggett, SC - July 21, 2013

We had another wonderful Grayson Family Reunion. There were 75 folks in attendance. Everyone seemed to be feeling good. The food was excellent. And to top it of, both Aunt Dottie and Aunt Betty were there. We had lots of little people there. We hope that more can make it next year.
 Aunt Dottie enjoyed the outing.
The Goodman's of Jacksonville, FL were there.

 Aunt Betty with Dianne.

 Jim and Margie
 Two of the younger wives.

This is only about a third of the pictures. All will be put in an album for the next reunion

A Visit with Gary and Brenda in NC Mountains July 2013

We were invited by Fran to join them in the mountains around West Jefferson, NC where Gary and Brenda had rented a vacation home. They were going to celebrate "Poppa's" birthday. So we were asked to surprise him with our appearance.
Here are Fran and Drew's four children quietly waiting for us.
Here is Evie with grandmother "B".
There was a hot tub on the deck which overlooked a beautiful view of the mountains. Gary and the grands enjoyed the warm water.
Aunt Jan is resting on the deck.
Aunt Jan and Fran share notes while Cade looks on. Husband Drew was at work and did not arrive until later.
Mary Fran and Ward were the big users of the tub.
Evie reads while Cade gets some loving from "B". Pepper is on watch to keep any feral elephants off the deck.
Ward and Cade with mom watching.
Poppa and B resting after the dip in the tub.
Poppa getting some good advice from Evie.
Not only did we get a delicious lunch, but we had steak tenderloin, fresh corn on the cob, and homemade coconut pie for dinner. We had a great day. We even sang happy birthday to Poppa.

Vacation in Hendersonville - July 2013

We spent 2.5 weeks at our small cottage in Hendersonville, NC.  The name of the park has been changed from Twin Ponds to The Village of Wildflowers. And gone are the old trailers and campers and RV's. It is being changed into a beautiful village of small homes. These units are only 10 X 40 ft in size. But they are beautiful. The next few pictures show you what they look like. If you would Google The Village of Wildflowers, you would get a good look at them.

The office area, pool, and club house.

The first four days, Jan's sister Joyce was with us. We then had a week by ourselves. We went to Montreat twice for the church service with the Worship and Music conference. The last week we had Eddie Mack and Joyce with us. The rain came down in bucket loads. All of the Fourth of July activities were cancelled. But I played golf 3 times, read 3 books, and we watched 12 movies. Here are Jan and Joyce enjoying sitting on the porch and looking over the pond.
