New York Trip May16-20, 2016

 In May, 2016, we went on a Road scholar trip to New York for the Mansions of the Hudson River Valley. We saw 8 mansions for the super rich of the early 20th century. We saw the homes of John D. Rockefeller, the Vanderbilt's, the Roosevelt's and others. WE also visited West Point. It was a wonderful trip. The above home is the Vanderbilt's home. Most of these homes are now with the US Park Service or a non-profit organization with a big endowment.

 I do not remember whose home this was but it was big and beautiful.

Edisto Beach April 2016 - Aunt Betty's Birthday Celebration

 Aunt Betty's birthday is May 5. We decided to honor her with a party while at Edisto Beach. She was so surprised. She will be 89 years young.

 Joyce prepared a cheese cake with strawberries on top. It was delicious.

 She got a little emotional. She would not open her cards or gifts until May 5. 

 It was a great party.

Lake Marion Visit, April 2016

 Jan and I spent 3 days with our friends Margaret and Glenn Owens at their time share at Lake Marion. The Wyndam Resort is in Santee, SC.
