Grayson Family Reunion at Meggett, SC - July 21, 2013

We had another wonderful Grayson Family Reunion. There were 75 folks in attendance. Everyone seemed to be feeling good. The food was excellent. And to top it of, both Aunt Dottie and Aunt Betty were there. We had lots of little people there. We hope that more can make it next year.
 Aunt Dottie enjoyed the outing.
The Goodman's of Jacksonville, FL were there.

This is only about a third of the pictures. All will be put in an album for the next reunion

A Visit with Gary and Brenda in NC Mountains July 2013

We were invited by Fran to join them in the mountains around West Jefferson, NC where Gary and Brenda had rented a vacation home. They were going to celebrate "Poppa's" birthday. So we were asked to surprise him with our appearance.
Here are Fran and Drew's four children quietly waiting for us.
Here is Evie with grandmother "B".
There was a hot tub on the deck which overlooked a beautiful view of the mountains. Gary and the grands enjoyed the warm water.
Aunt Jan is resting on the deck.
Aunt Jan and Fran share notes while Cade looks on. Husband Drew was at work and did not arrive until later.
Mary Fran and Ward were the big users of the tub.
Evie reads while Cade gets some loving from "B". Pepper is on watch to keep any feral elephants off the deck.

Poppa getting some good advice from Evie.
Not only did we get a delicious lunch, but we had steak tenderloin, fresh corn on the cob, and homemade coconut pie for dinner. We had a great day. We even sang happy birthday to Poppa.

Vacation in Hendersonville - July 2013

We spent 2.5 weeks at our small cottage in Hendersonville, NC.  The name of the park has been changed from Twin Ponds to The Village of Wildflowers. And gone are the old trailers and campers and RV's. It is being changed into a beautiful village of small homes. These units are only 10 X 40 ft in size. But they are beautiful. The next few pictures show you what they look like. If you would Google The Village of Wildflowers, you would get a good look at them.

The office area, pool, and club house.

The first four days, Jan's sister Joyce was with us. We then had a week by ourselves. We went to Montreat twice for the church service with the Worship and Music conference. The last week we had Eddie Mack and Joyce with us. The rain came down in bucket loads. All of the Fourth of July activities were cancelled. But I played golf 3 times, read 3 books, and we watched 12 movies. Here are Jan and Joyce enjoying sitting on the porch and looking over the pond.

Father's Day - June 16,2013

What a great Father's Day. Stella came to visit me. And of course, we had to play with the large Legos.
Hey Granddaddy, are you ready to play?
We had just picked up all the Legos from the first round of playing. Well, she decided we needed to start over.
She is now sitting with Daddy and playing with her piano.
She has been outside playing with her wheel barrel.
She was not too excited to swing. This lasted for about one minute.
Now it is time to play in the sprinkler. She has on her one piece bathing suit. She also has a bikini but is saving that for when they go to the beach.
 Resting with Grandmother!
 This is so much fun.
Marty, why do you have my towel?
 More advice from Grandmother.
Momma is catching a few rays!
It was time to rest, again.

35th Anniversary Celebration June 2013

Well, here we are back in Rock Hill for our 35th anniversary celebration with my brothers and wives.  Earlier we celebrated Joe and Liz's 45th. The food and fellowship were excellent. After lunch at Long Horns, we had dessert at Dairy Queen. Jan and I celebrated again on our actual date of June 3 at another nice restaurant.
Joe and Liz were getting ready for a trip to Houston to see Liz'z folks.
Eddie Mack was feeling exceptionally good. He did not have a headache today. This was a wonderful blessing. Joyce was pretty as usual.
Brenda and Gary were doing well. They reported that their families were all behaving.
Our waitress was kind to take our group picture.
While in Rock Hill we visited with Matthew's great grandfather. Roy is 101 years old. He held onto Jan's hand and kissed it before we left.
The next three pictures are of our backyard. We converted our small screen porch into a sunroom. Now we can enjoy it year round.
 The sunroom.
Come and visit and we will sit outside.
Of course, a visit to Rock Hill must include a visit with Stella.
Stella would go from my lap to Jan's and then back. She was in constant motion.
She has her own play telephone.
She does like to show off every once in awhile.
