On July 3 we took off for Mt. Mitchell. Jan had never been there. I had been there about 60 years ago. It was a beautiful day - to start with.
I had to prove that I was there also.
We walked to the summit and took the above pictures. Then we walked back down to the museum and the gift shop. And then the Heavens opened up and the rain came. The temperature dropped to 58F. We ate lunch there. On our way back to the car it started to hail.
But the trip was worth the drive. The scenery is fantastic.
